Bharatpur’s Ward Number–9 is the first “Child Labor Free” Ward in Chitwan District

On the occasion of UNCRC Day (20 November), the Ward No.: 9 has been declared as “CHILD LABOR FREE” ward during the organanized campaign activity which was chaired by the Coordinator of locally formed Main Organizing committee comprising 121 members representing from CFLG Committee, Ward Citizen Forum, various Tole Reform Committees.

The program was part of Diyalo Pariwar’s initiation which was funded by UNICEF-Nepal under Child Protection and Child Labor component through Bharatpur Sub-Metropolitan City.

During the campaign of more than 4 months long period started from July 2016, total 21 Child labors were identified initially which was

Out of identified 21 child labors, following all process of reintegration and rescue process total 17 (15 Girls and  Boys) were taken in consideration for the further case management process before the final declaration. 2 were managed with the relationship as adopted child, 2 were supported with income generating activities and reintegrated with their own family, 6 were given permission to be under foster family, 3 were given permission for relationships under own relatives and 4 were referred and handed over to Child Home after the all necessary process carried together with District Child Welfare Board, Women and Child Office and District Police Office.

The event was organized with the pre-possession rounded in major parts and routs of the Ward 9. All 20 Tole Reform Committees and other community groups including schools and other community people along with representatives from major political parties and social organizations with banners and play cards promoting the child protection and child rights equally warning for Not to Put Child Labor at homes and work-places.

The green flag campaign has been conducted all over the households in Ward-9.
